PRUE AVENUE RESIDENCE
This relaxed residence came about by downsizing from a large family home and the construction of a vacation property in the same time period. Once the decision was made to purchase this house, our design team were able to develop a concept for the clients in short order.
This included a new kitchen & bathrooms and all finishes related to flooring, walls and lighting throughout. After a complete inventory, we made selections from the clients’ existing furnishings with some pieces earmarked for the vacation property and others to family members.
Our choices included many classic modern pieces of Italian and American provenance including a pair of Eames lounge chairs, two Vignelli fauteuils and a large Baughman sofa grouping. The art collection was studied and certain paintings & sculptures were selected to work in this relaxed city home while others were to be used in the vacation property.
In the design phase of the new kitchen we proposed the closing up of an existing window and the installation of a 4’0”square skylight to flood the space with natural light.
This allowed for a hyper-efficient layout; whether for meal prep for large family gatherings or an intimate dinner for two. The white oak & cream lacquer cabinetry along with the Caesarstone work surfaces are warm and sophisticated without being clinical. The thick rubber flooring is quiet, skid-proof and easy on the joints.
